I assume it's a short. My question is where could a direct short be in brand new truck I unplugged all 4 lights. Still shorted. It's not going to be an inverter problem for thr 12v outlets. The inverter is only going to be for the wall plug outlets like you have in your house. The 12v gets power directly from the trucks electrical system. I ran into the same situation on a newer Cascadia. Took 2 days and 2 different Freightliner dealers to diagnose. Here was my problem. The tractor detected an incomplete circuit in the trailer lighting. Bottom line, the tractor shut down power to that pin in order to protect its own circuitry.
