Caller said without the update my model will stop working. I happened to be in the same room as the modem which was a little scary. Told the caller my modem is working just fine and hung up. Xfinity is a scam. Recently the promotional offer on my current plan expired. Xfinity said they could increase my internet speeds for the same price I was currently paying (which would have been cheaper than continuing with the same level of service I had).
